Gabriel H. Hinman
Gabriel focuses his practice on land use, environmental law, and appellate practice.
Gabriel’s chief strengths are in legal writing and analysis. Gabriel uses these strengths to simplify the most complex arguments and code provisions into understandable English to advise his clients and persuasively present their cases to courts and administrators alike. Gabe takes a strategic approach to litigation, never losing sight of his client’s core goals and priorities and leveraging his extensive knowledge of Washington law and procedure to meet them.
Before joining Smith Alling, Gabriel clerked for Judge Rich Melnick of the Washington Court of Appeals and Justice Sheryl Gordon McCloud of the Washington State Supreme Court. Gabriel chairs the rules and policy subcommittee of the Washington State Bar Association’s Pro Bono and Public Service Committee and is a member of the Robert J. Bryan Inn of Court.
When outside the office, Gabe spends his time wandering the mountains of the Pacific Northwest with his wife and two sons.
